BCP: Beyond the Device: A Proven Framework for Launching a New Orthotic Intervention in Your Clinic

Successfully introducing a major new orthotic intervention into a practice requires more than clinical interest. Long-term success depends on operational readiness, reimbursement planning, workflow integration, market development, and referral generation.

This AOPA Business Certificate Program elective provides a practical framework for evaluating, implementing, and scaling a new orthotic intervention within a clinical practice. Participants will gain actionable strategies to support sustainable adoption, strengthen referral pathways, minimize operational disruption, and maximize both patient outcomes and business growth.

Learning Objectives:

• 1) Evaluate the clinical, operational, financial, and strategic considerations involved in adopting a new orthotic intervention.
• 2) Develop a structured internal rollout plan that aligns leadership, clinicians, reimbursement, administrative teams, and marketing teams.
• 3) Create market development and referral-generation strategies that drive patient awareness and clinical growth.

This is a Business Certificate Program elective under the Sales and Marketing pillar. Note: At the end of this course, you will receive a certificate for CE credit upon successful completion of the quiz.  Please note that is a certificate for CE credits only and not the IIOP and AOPA O&P Business Certificate. The IIOP and AOPA O&P Business Certificate requires enrollment in and successful completion of four AOPA electives (one from each pillar) and four IIOP core courses. Upon successful completion of the Business Certificate Program, AOPA will reach out to you about receiving your O&P Business Certificate. 

Individuals not participating in the AOPA and IIOP Business Certificate Program are still welcome to take this course for CE credit and/or educational purposes.
